SIMGENS emphasizes “role play” over “rule play.” Participants primarily use their imaginations to play out interactive fiction scenarios. This is in contrast to many role playing games that mix interactive fiction with rules-heavy tactical simulation or war gaming. In SIMGENS, the rules are simple and are there just to provide a framework on which to carry out the action.

Using SIMGENS, you can easily adapt your favorite setting (from a movie, TV show, book, comic book, or even another RPG) and play scenarios in it. Or you can make up your own setting, in any genre. The possibilities are as limitless as your imagination.
